National Optometry Offers Extensive Selection Of Contact Lenses And Often Same Day Service

Since 1985, National Optometry has been serving patients in the Virginia Beach/Hampton Roads/Tidewater areas of Virgina. Their mission is to provide top of the line service and products at affordable prices to the people in the community. One way they do this is by stocking an extensive selection of contact lenses, including those for astigmatism. This means the patients of National Optometry can usually walk out of the office with a new pair of contacts the same day.

It used to be that astigmatism and the need for multifocal lenses could only be corrected through glasses. Today, the optometrists at National Optometry can correct many common vision conditions with the use of special contact lenses. Some contact lenses stocked at National Optometry include:

Contact Lenses For Astigmatism - Contact lenses that correct an astigmatism are called toric lenses. Toric lenses have two powers in them; one to correct the astigmatism, and one to correct nearsightedness or farsightedness. They also contain a mechanism that prevents them from rotating on the eye, which is key to the two powers working in conjunction with one another.

Years ago, when toric lenses were first created, they were only available in a hard lens, or RGP (rigid gas permeable). Today, the optometrists at National Optometry are proud to be able to offer patients a wide variety of toric lenses, that correct vision with outstanding stability and comfort.

Multifocal Lenses - Like toric lenses, multifocal lenses have two prescriptions in the lens, one for near vision and one for distance vision. Optometrists at National Optometry use all of the newest soft multifocal contact lenses available on the market.
